This week, we are going to take a break from movie quotes and characters and focus in on reviewing a social media influencer. Kris Collins (known on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram by her handle "@kallmekris") is a 25-year-old TikTok star and influencer. She also is a hairdresser, fashion blogger, and YouTuber, according to newsunzip.com. Kris rose to fame for her comedy TikTok sketches featuring characters like five-year-old Riley and her mother from Boston, Janet. She has developed a lot of costumes and voices for each of the characters, and she films and produces these all herself.

Most of Kris's content is in TikTok, but she will often upload her featured content on YouTube as a #Short video or on Instagram as a Reel. Her Instagram posts features photos of her outfits and makeup. On YouTube, she often does random challenges (whether from fan suggestions or sheer boredom). She also has a couple answering questions videos where she opens up about her mental health struggles and more personal questions that people may have about her life. 

It seems that a lot of Kris's followers are people my age and younger. TikTok is generally a Gen Z and below platform, and most of her content is directed to 18- to 25-year-olds. She not only has her host of characters to accompany Riley and Janet, but she also has a short series about growing up and parent-child relationships as more children enter the picture. The comments reveal that these, while a little over the top at times, are really relatable about the frustrations of watching younger siblings get away with stuff you would never have gotten away with.

I first found Kallmekris videos on Pinterest. My sister sent me a TikTok of Riley and I thought she was great! I follow her because of the fun, over-the-top-silly Riley videos. I have watched less of hers because her content has developed a more rebellious, "screw society" vibe. Because I have younger sisters that could possibly be watching her content, I find it a little frustrating that influencers like Kris are so ready and quick to encourage younger viewers to "just do them" and "fight the man" and all that. However, she still does produce some very funny content, and her earlier videos have become inside jokes between myself and my family members!
